What is a China sourcing agent and how do they work?

A China sourcing agent is a local procurement service provider who helps international buyers find suppliers, negotiate prices, and manage quality control in China. RUIDA operates as a licensed China trade company with an on-the-ground team in Linyi, Shandong, providing supplier vetting, factory audits, product inspection, and shipping coordination for vehicles, hardware, and building materials.

How are you different from Alibaba or 1688?

Alibaba and 1688 are listing platforms that show supplier self-reported information. RUIDA is a physical procurement team on the ground in China. We visit factories in person, verify production capability, and perform quality inspections. You do not place orders on a website — we manage the entire process for you, from supplier selection to pre-shipment QC.

What is your service fee and what does it cover?

Service fee is a percentage of final FOB order value: 8% for under $10K (min $500), 5% for $10K-$50K, 3.5% for $50K-$200K, negotiable for $200K-$500K. Orders over $500K receive a volume discount. This is a zero-kickback fee — we take no commissions from factories. Covers supplier screening, quotation comparison, factory audit, sample arrangement, production monitoring, pre-shipment AQL inspection, loading supervision, and shipping documentation.

When do I pay the service fee?

You pay the service fee only after goods pass our pre-shipment quality inspection and before the container ships. There is no upfront retainer or consultation fee. This aligns our interests with yours — we only get paid when the quality is verified.

How do you ensure product quality from Chinese factories?

We follow AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) international standards for inspection. Our process includes: supplier qualification review, pre-production sample approval, in-line production inspection, and mandatory pre-shipment inspection with a detailed report before any container is sealed. If quality fails, we reject the batch before it ships.

What products do you specialize in sourcing from China?

Our core categories are: (1) Electric and fuel 2/3 wheelers — motorcycles, scooters, cargo tricycles; (2) Electric micro vehicles — golf carts, NEVs, sightseeing cars; (3) Hardware and building materials from the Linyi wholesale market. We also source beyond these categories if the opportunity fits.

Can you handle small orders or mixed containers?

Yes. For hardware specifically, we specialize in mixed-container consolidation — combining products from multiple Linyi suppliers into one container to save on logistics costs. For vehicles, minimum order quantities vary by model but are typically flexible. This is ideal for African importers who need to optimize shipping costs.

Do you handle SONCAP, KEBS, and other African import certifications?

Yes. We manage regional certifications including SONCAP (Nigeria), KEBS (Kenya), TBS (Tanzania), and other conformity assessments on behalf of our clients. Our team has documented processes for each certification scheme, including pre-shipment inspection coordination with authorized agencies.

Why is there a $500 good faith deposit before factory audits?

The $500 deposit covers our audit teams travel costs to visit your 3 shortlisted factories. If the order is completed, this $500 is fully credited toward your service fee. If no order results, it covers our costs. This ensures only serious buyers proceed to the audit stage.

How do you prevent your inspectors from taking bribes from factories?

Our anti-corruption system has three layers: GPS-tracked company phones with full communication logging, above-market salaries so inspectors do not need side income, and a zero-tolerance policy where one verified violation results in immediate dismissal and a public industry network announcement.

Are factory audits and QC inspections included in the service fee?

Yes. All factory audits, on-site visits, and the 4-stage QC process are included at no extra charge. Reports and photos are submitted to the client for every stage.

Is there a discount for repeat orders from the same factory?

Yes. Once a factory has been audited and an order completed successfully, reorders from that same factory are charged at a flat 3% rate. This covers ongoing QC, production monitoring, and after-sales protection.

Do you offer a first-order trial discount?

Yes. First-time clients with an order value of $20,000 or above get a 1% discount off the standard service rate. Full service is provided with no shortcuts.

Do you handle the payment to the supplier?

Yes. As a licensed trade company, we can handle supplier payments on your behalf through formal trade contracts. Alternatively, you can pay the supplier directly. Both models are supported with full transparency.

What technical documentation do you provide?

We provide product catalogs with specifications, technical manuals translated to English, compliance certificates (CE, SONCAP, GSO, etc.), factory audit reports, quality inspection reports, and complete shipping documents.

How long does the entire sourcing process take?

Supplier matching and quotation takes 3 to 7 days. Factory audit and sampling takes 5 to 10 days. Production takes 15 to 40 days depending on the product. QC and loading takes 2 to 3 days. Total is approximately 4 to 8 weeks from inquiry to shipment.
