Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about working with RUIDA.
How are you different from Alibaba or 1688?▾
Alibaba and 1688 are listing platforms — they show you supplier self-reported information. We are a physical procurement team on the ground in China. We visit factories in person, verify production capability, and perform quality inspections. You don't place orders on a website — we manage the entire process for you.
What is your service fee and what does it cover?▾
Our service fee is a percentage of the final FOB order value: 8% for orders under $10,000 (min $500), 5% for $10K-$50K, 3.5% for $50K-$200K, negotiable for $200K-$500K. Orders over $500,000 receive −1% volume discount, and over $1,000,000 receive −2%. This is a zero-kickback fee — we take no commissions from factories, unlike most agents who charge you 5% while collecting another 5-10% from the supplier side. Covers: supplier screening, quotation comparison, factory audit, sample arrangement, production monitoring, pre-shipment inspection (AQL), loading supervision, and shipping documentation.
When do I pay the service fee?▾
You pay the service fee only after goods pass our pre-shipment quality inspection and before the container ships. There is no upfront retainer or consultation fee.
Why is there a $500 good faith deposit before factory audits?▾
After you receive the quotation comparison and select 3 factories, we send our audit team to visit each factory in person. China is a large country — factories in different provinces can be hundreds of kilometers apart. Travel (high-speed rail or flights), hotel accommodation, and meals for multi-day trips are real costs. The $500 deposit covers these expenses. If the order is completed, this $500 is fully credited toward your service fee. If no order materializes, it covers our costs — we both share the risk. This also ensures that only serious buyers proceed to the audit stage, which lets us maintain our high-quality, well-paid audit team with zero tolerance for factory bribery.
How do you prevent your inspectors from taking bribes from factories?▾
This is a real problem in our industry. Here is how we solve it: (1) All audit and QC staff carry GPS-tracked company phones with full communication logging — every call, message, and location is recorded. (2) We pay above-market salaries — our inspectors don't need to supplement their income. (3) Zero-tolerance policy: one verified violation = immediate dismissal + public announcement within our industry network, effectively ending that person's career in sourcing. This system makes the risk of accepting a bribe far greater than any potential reward. Our clients' trust is worth more than any kickback.
Are factory audits and QC inspections included in the service fee?▾
Yes. All factory audits, on-site visits, and our 4-stage quality control inspections (pre-production sample check, 30% inline, 70% inline, and pre-shipment AQL 2.5 inspection) are included in the service fee at no extra charge. All reports and photos are submitted to you.
Is there a discount for repeat orders from the same factory?▾
Yes. Once we have completed an order with a factory — meaning the factory has been audited, the production process is proven, and quality is confirmed — reorders from that same factory are charged at a flat 3% rate. This covers ongoing QC inspection, production monitoring, and after-sales protection. You keep all the safeguards at a significantly lower cost.
Do you offer a first-order trial discount?▾
Yes. First-time clients with an order value of $20,000 or above receive a 1% discount on the standard service rate (e.g., 5% → 4% for a $30K order). It's a lower-risk way to experience our full service — no shortcuts, no reduced QC, just a better price on your first project.
Do you handle the payment to the supplier?▾
Yes, as a licensed trade company (RUIDACN.COM), we can handle supplier payments on your behalf through formal trade contracts. Alternatively, you can pay the supplier directly — we support both models and provide full transparency either way.
What products do you specialize in?▾
Our core categories are: (1) Electric & fuel 2/3 wheelers — motorcycles, scooters, cargo tricycles; (2) Electric micro vehicles — golf carts, NEVs, sightseeing cars; (3) Hardware & building materials from the Linyi wholesale market. However, we can source beyond these categories if the opportunity fits.
Can you handle small orders or mixed containers?▾
Yes. For hardware specifically, we specialize in mixed-container consolidation — combining products from multiple Linyi suppliers into one container to save on logistics. For vehicles, MOQs vary by model but are typically quite flexible.
How do you ensure product quality?▾
We follow AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) international standards for inspection. Our process includes: supplier qualification review, pre-production sample approval, in-line production inspection, and mandatory pre-shipment inspection with a detailed report before any container is sealed. If quality fails, we reject the batch before it ships.
What technical documentation do you provide?▾
We provide: product catalogs with specifications, technical manuals (translated to English), compliance certificates (CE, SONCAP, GSO, etc. as applicable), factory audit reports, quality inspection reports, and shipping documents.
How long does the entire process take?▾
Typical timeline: 3-7 days for supplier matching and quotation, 5-10 days for factory audit and sampling, 15-40 days for production (varies by product), 2-3 days for QC and loading. In total, expect 4-8 weeks from inquiry to shipment.
Which countries have you worked with?▾
We have completed projects in Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Chile, among others. Visit our Projects page for details.
What if something goes wrong after delivery?▾
We provide after-sales support including supplier coordination for warranty claims and defect resolution. While we are not the manufacturer, our trade company status allows us to formally represent your interests with the supplier. Issues are typically addressed within 48 hours.
